Van Gogh Museum x Vans Apparel. Mad

Aside from the well-acclaimed artist Vincent Van Gogh having a similar name to the renown shoe brand Vans, what else do they have in common? Now much more than perhaps previously imagined, the two (or at least the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam (Holland)) have collaborated with each other to create this unique collection of shoes and apparel.

Entirely inspired by the Dutch artist's masterpieces, Vans and the Van Gogh museum have collaborated in the most unique of ways by featuring four of the artist's masterpieces on the brand's attire. With all proceeds described as going to help the museum's legacy, SATORI & SCOUT cannot work out if this is plain strange or fantastically creative. We will go for the latter. A limited edition collection, the artwork pieces that have been chosen include The Skull (from 1887), Almond Blossom (1890), Sunflowers (1889) and his self-portrait painter (1887). Now portrayed on more than just the historic canvasses, each can be found on Van's classic slip-on shoe, a long-sleeve t-shirt, hoodie and cap. Odd, but unique. Each with added details in addition to simply applying the artworks onto the apparel's surfaces, we will let you discover these as you browse the Vans x Van Gogh collection.

As Adriaan Danszelmann, managing director of the Van Gogh museum describes, "...we are delighted with the Vans x Van Gogh museum collection as it ties in with our mission to make the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh accessible to as many people as possible in order to enrich and inspire them. By uniting Van Gogh's iconic artworks with iconic Vans styles, our partnership brings Vincent's art 'off the wall' and into the world to a new audience outside the museum." Now this is something that SATORI & SCOUT agrees with. Available to purchase on the official Vans and the Van Gogh Museum website, maybe a trip to Amsterdam is in order?
