Panasonic Blinkers For Ultimate Focus
How many times have you felt like there are too many distractions in life? Everyday? We thought so.
Developed by Panasonic's Future Life Factory, these blinker framing devices are designed to combat exactly this, limiting your senses (particularly sound and sight) and help you only focus on your direct vision (and audio). Titled 'Wear Space', this distraction-combating device will be particularly useful in places such as offices or public transport where continual background noise is annoying and absolutely affecting your work or pleasure
Here you can discover more about Future Life Factory, but such a prototype concept has been actioned in collaboration with Japanese designer Kunihiko Morinaga. The blinker's frontal-opening causes the user to only be able to see roughly 40% of their total original vision field, and as such, will really help you see forward and not towards any potential distraction.
As Future Life Factory explains, "...As open offices and digital nomads are on the rise, workers are finding it ever more important to have personal space where they can focus. Wear Space instantly creates this kind of personal space - it's as simple as putting on an article of clothing." Though it could be argued that the design is hardly innovative by way of being an almost carbon-copy of those blinkers commonly found on horses - for which they are also used for focus reasons during horse racing - the device is certainly unusual by concept and in reality. The user's vision field can actually also be adjusted by adjusting both ends of the device further apart or closer together, and therefore resulting in either narrowing or widening visibility. How concentrated do you need to be?
Also equipped with noise cancelling headphones which are fitted inside the device's curvature, such a feature is also adjustable to allow you to adapt to the situation you find yourself in and either totally block out every noise and sound, or simply muffle the background noise down to something bearable. Fitted with wireless internet and Bluetooth, the device can ultimately be then connected to a music device and used as headphones. If anything, the device is simply a single-unit headphone of a futuristic design. Such a device is now available via a crowdfunding campaign.
