Effortlessly Blended Phone Charging Tray
Being widely known that SATORI & SCOUT love their minimalism, this wireless charging tray that has been designed by Benjamin Hubert fits the bill very nicely. A collaboration between experienced design agency Layer and italian ceramics brand Bitossi, Hubert's design is made from ceramic and has an integrated induction charging system for your phone or tablet. A design that has been influenced by homewares, each of Hubert's charge trays minimise the visual impact of technology in the home and enables easy wireless charging of technology devices as well as storage of small items.
"At Layer we are interested in humanising technology and harmonising it with the interior environment", comments Layer design studio, where the charge tray can definitely be said be a minimal intervention, not particularly because of its pastel / earthy colourways available. Of modular nature, the natural design gives its ceramic manufacturer's Bitossi the ability to update the Hubert's charge tray collection upon new charging technology becoming available. A timeless accessory as a result of such innovation, the design was originally introduced at Clerkenwell Design Week 2016 and is now available in four sizes and four glazed surface finishes; salt, matte, crackle, and soba. With the tray of a distinct appeal and careful manufacture, visual excellence is best served minimally (please, excuse the pun).
Some of the world's most recent technology is exactly so to make the everyday easier, and there's perhaps so much available that many people just aren't aware, however Layer feel such innovation "shouldn€™t always look highly technological." Exuding high-craft rather than high-tech, the effortless design of this charging tray certainly would blend in with any domestic environment. A London based studio, Layer's innovative wireless charging tray embraces technology that references all things classical and minimalist, and is a design well among its impressive roster - SATORI & SCOUT full recommend you discover some of the agency's other designs.
